Commercial Director (UK)

The UK division based in Manchester’s digital hub continues to show significant  growth and is looking to drive the business further with the recruitment of a commercial / sales director. This is a key hire and is a central role in driving the next phase of the companies already impressive growth. The ideal candidate will be a commercially focused creative strategist with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to translate client needs and opportunities into clearly set deliverables aligned to a long term strategic plan and revenue budget.

The successful candidate will work closely with the UK managing director, CEO and CTO to grow the UK business. This role is for an experienced individual  with no less than 3 – 5 years experience in a digital environment presently working in the UK digital sector. The individual is expected to add value in growing the UK business by identifying new commercial opportunities. The goal is simple,  to promote and expand the company’s UK commercial activity and in so doing generate revenues that deliver long term sustainable growth. This role is for an individual that thrives on setting clearly defined budgets, takes ownership of the plan and delivers  to an agreed timeline.

Possessing an entrepreneurial mindset balanced with credible presence your opinion will resonate with clients as you provide recommendations and guide them toward optimum concepts and solutions. With exceptional communication skills you relish client interaction and are sensitive to delivering digital innovation in a fast moving technology landscape. Your opinion will count and we expect you quickly to be our lead advisor to  new clients, providing recommendations and guiding clients toward optimum concepts and solutions. Working closely with our internal teams you will define and deliver for client’s market leading digital solutions that transform their business.

The ideal candidate will presently be working in an agile, fast paced leading digital development environment either agency, client or consultancy.

You will possess the following attributes:

  • Passionate with natural thought leadership around all things digital.
  • An understanding of the importance of user led design and working in agile delivery environments on products and propositions.
  • Comfortable at driving digital transformation for customers with market leading digital product experiences.
  • Excellent client facing and internal communication skills.
  • Ability to grasp concepts of a deep technical nature quickly with an understanding of the underlying business environment and impact
  • The ability to think on feet, be proactive, stay calm under pressure, offering solutions to often complex technical problems
  • An understanding with examples of how digital technology can enhance and simplify the consumer experience.

You can demonstrate the following skills:

  • A strong technical background with technical writing skills for defining requirements, design and specification documentation
  • Expertise in Agile methods and work across key internal functions, with exceptional cross – platform knowledge on delivery across mobile, web and backend platforms
  • Deep knowledge of digital technologies with examples of digital projects delivered
  • A high degree of UI/UX knowledge and expertise enabling accurate definition of customer journeys and briefings to internal UI/UX teams
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.

You will be required to:

  • Identify target verticals with suitable target customer appropriate for digital innovation and solutions we can deliver as Computer Rock
  • Prepare and complete appropriate client presentations positioning Computer Rock as leading digital innovation partner with key reference clients
  • Agree and set financial budget with supporting and expected commercial revenue pipeline based on client and market analysis
  • Oversee highest  quality control from client presentations to projects including concept development through to closure and operational handover.
  • Work with the project management team to manage internal and external teams to ensure delivery to the highest quality Manage internal teams output in accordance with client expectations.
  • Attend all relevant client meetings and follow up with contact reports and implemented transparent and documented work streams.
  • Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
  • Work with internal teams to produce full client project documentation including market research where required, identifying client  need , client and consumer flows, sitemaps, wireframes with annotations, specifications, delivery schedules and updates
