As a reputable national name in the high-end design segment, stilwerk is home to more than 1,000 premium brands and over 120 retailers, and the centers welcome over 1.8 million visitors every year. One key challenge of the relaunch project was the development of web design that fulfills the high aesthetic aspirations of stilwerk and also finds approval by the diverse range of stakeholders, as each brand and retailer represented in stilwerk has its individual style and design.
In addition, we were faced with the challenge of highly interconnected content throughout the website, as different content types such as brands, retailer pages, news or stilwerk locations are all individually connected to each other. As most contents are subject to an ongoing change (e.g. news or brands), the requirement was to implement a data structure that reduces the time needed to maintain and update the website and facilitate content management for the client.
With a team of international designers, we developed a modern screen design and optimized the content strategy of the website, as the new design integrates and simultaneously simplifies the broad range of contents within an intuitive user experience. Users are able to easily switch between and dive into a specific location and explore all related brands, retailers and news.
To face the challenge of complex and interconnected content, we implemented our own CMS Symfony/Sonata, which was specifically developed to manage demanding data structures. This system allows a robust and flexible compilation of contents, while providing a clear and simple backend interface. It is possible to edit content on one location within the dynamic information architecture, thereby reducing the workload to update the website which is subject to continuous change.
After all we have to say: a truly beautiful project with exquisite design!
