DPD Group, one of the largest parcel distribution companies in Europe, recently launched their new web portal “mydpd”. Computer Rock as a long-term partner for UX and technology takes pride in being part of this challenging project that has now gone live successfully.
The goal was to develop a pragmatic solution enabling DPD to uplift their corporate websites and business applications according to new UX and service standards while driving a unified brand experience across the whole digital landscape. The major challenge arose from the high diversity and varying restrictions across 14 markets, especially regarding business applications.
Computer Rock’s approach was to shift the perspective from classic brochure to service design focusing on the interest and intention of the individual user. Additionally, we made the switch from categorizing the users into either business or private users, but started off with a hybrid version for all customers. The new navigation structure with integrated funnel logic respects these conditions and guides DPD users quickly to their destination pages. As a result “mydpd” now provides personalized content across all digital platforms.
Computer Rock’s contribution was the entire website architecture, the navigation concept and a modern user interface. Furthermore, we developed a globally suitable URL structure and according SEO guidelines. By integrating a comprehensive tracking concept tailored to multiple requirements, DPD is now able to analyse and continuously improve its website right from the start. With the announcement of the new portal “mydpd” an interesting and challenging Computer Rock “baby” is now in the wild.
