Wetter-Alarm is Switzerland's free severe weather warning service, offered by the Vereinigung Kantonaler Gebäudeversicherungen with meteorological data from SRF Meteo. Originally launched as an SMS service, more than 1 million customers are now using the storm warning service via the Wetter-Alarm app, which has been continuously developed into the top weather app over the past few years. The app has won Gold for User Experience at Best of Swiss App 2017 and many more awards.
Our Main Goal
Behind Wetter-Alarm are the “Vereinigung Kantonaler Gebäudeversicherungen” who's goal it is, to prevent their clients from weather cause damages on their houses and gardens. When Wetter-Alarm approached us over 10 years ago, the initial goal was to transfer their clients, which received real time weather warnings via SMS, to use the service via mobile app.
After successfully launching the Wetter-Alarm app in 2010, the ambition was to develop the app into Switzerland's top weather app, a goal which we can proudly claim to have reached.
On one hand due to continuously expanding the app with attractive features, going far beyond ‘only weather data', such as offering roundshot live cams in HD quality. Or personal alarms helping users to plan their outdoor activities. On the other hand a big part of the app’s success is the use of native top notch technology and - last but not least - the constant focus on an easy and seamless user experience.
